How StellaHP High-Performance Coaching is Different

How StellaHP is Different

StellaHP's High-Performance Coaching program is NOT a generalized coaching and leadership program that is going to provide you with a whole range of complex concepts that are difficult to understand and apply. Rather, it is a tested and proven system for coaching people and teams to help them improve and reach their full potential. It is specifically designed to increase performance as well as employee engagement and will teach you simple and highly effective methods that you can use IMMEDIATELY.

StellaHP's High-Performance Coaching is the most comprehensive performance coaching system you will come across.

Many "training" programs when used in isolation do not get the desired results. They often fail to get some, if any, return on investment. This has been proven repeatedly from research since 1979. This is not a criticism of the content in these programs. Often the content is highly engaging and of use. However, the focus of these programs is teaching content and not on behavioral change or ongoing skill development and support. There is a huge difference between teaching content in a safe and comfortable learning environment, versus applying and adapting that content in real-world scenarios.

While we may really enjoy the content of an educational program, without the ongoing support of other people and the systems in place to enable us to take action, we will soon be back to doing what we used to do. Why? Because human beings are creatures of habit. Developing new habits requires time, attention, intention, repetition and ongoing support and coaching.

Figures released by Deloitte in 2014, showed that organizations spent in excess of $14 billion dollars on Leadership Programs in 2012. When many of those organizations were surveyed 18-24 months later and asked what their biggest gaps are now and moving into the future, Leadership was in the top 3. What this tells us, is that traditional ways of training are ineffective. More recent research support these findings and the gap in effective leadership is more relevant today than ever.

StellaHP's High-Performance Coaching program is different from others you may have tried, for seven important reasons:

1 - Systems Focused

We will support you to develop or refine your own system for high-performance coaching. At StellaHP we believe in taking a system’s thinking approach. Why? Because systems are critical to your success as a leader and as a high-performance coach.

2 - Unrivaled Support

We recognize that this is the start of a journey and we are here to help you succeed on that journey. This requires ongoing support and development. As a part of this program, you will get access to online information and exercises, pre-recorded webinars, live webinars, group coaching, ongoing learning modules, and most importantly a system that will allow you to track and measure your coaching rhythm and quality. You will follow proven leadership development plans that are tailored to your organization and leadership use case and have access to live one-on-one coaching from StellaHP to support the implementation of the coaching system in your specific environment.

3 - Research

At StellaHP we value research. We continue to look at research so that it can continue to inform us. We use research from three key areas for this program.

  • Business Research: We continue to look at business-related research and studies from organizations such as McKinsey and Co, The Corporate Leadership Council, Gallup, Deloitte, and Ernst and Young to name a few.
  • Scientific Research: We look at and use research from relevant fields such as psychology, positive psychology, neuroscience, human development, leadership, and coaching.
  • Academic Research: Yes, we also look at what some of the biggest Universities in the world are telling us about coaching, human motivation theory, organizational culture, and employee performance. Universities such as MIT, Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, and Oxford.

4 - Personal Experience

There is a big difference between personal opinion and personal experience. You can have an opinion about something without having any experience. We believe that is an ineffective place to come from. This program is not about our personal opinions. It is about what WORKS from a combination of our combined personal/professional experience and research.

We bring over 50 years of combined practical experience to the program. We have not put this program together from a textbook. While we love to research, we are all about practical application and how to keep things simple.

5 - Behavioral Modeling

Behavioral modeling is simply studying the behaviors, mindsets, beliefs, and value systems of success and excellence. As a result of so much experience across so many different countries, cultures, sectors, and industries we have been fortunate enough to work with exceptionally talented people leaders, and coaches who have created exceedingly high-performing teams and cultures.

Over the last 20 years, we have observed and interviewed many of these people and learned what high-performing coaches and managers do. All our findings are supported by international research.

Viewing your organization through a behavioral lens will open your eyes to high-performance opportunities that you didn't see before.

6 - The 80/20 Principle

The 80/20 rule or Pareto Principle as it’s also known is a useful guideline for success. It simply states that 20% of what we do, creates 80% of our results. This is useful to use as a heuristic or rule of thumb.

If you lead people, then on average 20% of those people will produce 80% of the team's results. Statistically speaking 20% of salespeople make roughly 80% of the sales. The opposite is also true, in that 20% of your staff probably create 80% of your headaches. The Police know this is true, as roughly 20% of criminals commit 80% of the crime. They refer to this ratio as recidivist offending.

What we have learned over the last 20 years of studying high-performance, is that 20% of your day-to-day coaching and leadership actions will create 80% of your team’s results. Yes, you read that right!

What YOU do, or don’t do, will directly impact the results of your team.

When it comes to creating high-performing teams and individuals, we have worked out what that 20% is, that makes the biggest difference.

7 - Simplicity

The key to creating high-performance is to keep it SIMPLE. High-performance is not about addition (adding more things), it is more about subtraction (taking things away), so you can do the simple things more often. As human beings, we have an extraordinary ability to over-complicate things. Doing the simple things right and keeping the right things simple is crucial to creating and maintaining high-performing cultures. We have probably all been on professional development programs where we have learned about the latest “theory”. While interesting, these theories are incredibly difficult to apply in a practical sense. We believe that if you cannot apply it then it isn’t worth it.

Our focus on this program is to teach you simple and highly effective methodologies that you can use IMMEDIATELY.
